1700- Human Trafficking began when child labor was first started.
2000- The United Inter-Agency Project on human trafficking was established to try and help stop the trafficking.
This chart shows what each person was being trafficked for. Either to work on a farm, in a factory, for domestic servitude, misc. but mainly for prostitiution. Human Trafficking can take place all over the world but mainly in high population areas or where the people are living in poverty. According to the organization, Action to End Exploitation,"The United States Department of State estimates that “600,000 to 800,000 men, women, and children [are] trafficked across international borders each year, approximately 80 percent are women and girls and up to 50 percent are minors."
Many people who are being trafficked are from many different countries. According to this chart from 2005- 2008, most of the people are from Russia or another high populated country. Most of the other countries have a percentage of traffickers but this does not mean they are not trafficking people, but doing less of it than other countries.
Many Africans are being trafficked by boat from Europe to get to where they are needed the most. They are forced to ride the boat and go along with what the Europeans say they have to do. If they did not listen then they would be badly beaten.
